Frequently asked questions

Does this change my Google ranking?

No. The plugin doesn't touch Google's systems or make any SEO promises. It simply gives your readers a convenient link to Google's own preferred-source settings, where they choose to see more of your site.

Do you collect any personal data?

No. Analytics are aggregated daily counters per placement — impressions, clicks and dismissals. No IP addresses, user agents, names or emails are stored, and analytics can be switched off entirely.

Will it work with my caching plugin?

Yes. Trigger, device and dismissal logic runs in the browser, so cached pages behave correctly. On save, the plugin clears popular caches including LiteSpeed, WP Rocket, WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, Cache Enabler, WP Fastest Cache and SG Optimizer.

Can I translate the button and prompts?

Absolutely. Button labels ship localized in 20+ languages, you can set your own custom text, and a translation template is included for everything else.

Is it affiliated with Google?

No. Search Personalization is an independent WordPress plugin and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. “Google Preferred Sources” is a feature provided by Google.
